About the company:

Our client is a world leading organisation creating cutting edge technology and transforming the way people use their mobile devices. Due to ongoing success and continued growth we are now looking to recruit an experienced Software Engineer for the Frontend Development team.

Description:

As an experienced web application developer you will be responsible for developing frontend, cutting edge location-based search solutions. You will be closely involved in architectural definition, product specification and hands-on development of the Search frontend framework which will be integrated to various location-based services. You will be a key element of the team that builds multi-platform location service applications using web 2.0 technologies.

Candidate Requirements:

You have a strong track record of developing and delivering first-class web applications alongside experience in project and/or team management.

Specific requirements include:

• Extensive experience developing user interfaces for web and mobile devices
• Expert level skills in HTML/CSS, Javascript, JSON, JSP, XML, AJAX and various Javascript libraries
• Knowledge of SOAP / REST based web services
• Good understanding of browser limitations and platform specific differences and quirks
• Degree or equivalent qualification in computer science or related field
• Team player with strong communication and project management skills.

Candidates who also possess the following skills/experience will be at a distinct advantage:

• Familiarity with location based search paradigms
• Previous experience with mobile XHTML applications, clear understanding of constraints in mobile browser environments
• Experience with other programming languages (e.g. Python, C++, Java)

Special conditions:

This position will be based in the divisional headquarters in Germany. My client will consider applicants not currently based in Germany as long as you are prepared to relocate to Germany should you be successful in securing the role. This is a full time, permanent position.
