Role Summary
The Mobile Advertising Operations Manager is responsible for the ensuring the people, processes, technology and products required in the company to support and deliver direct and indirect advertising revenue are in place, optimised, and robust on an ongoing basis.
This role will be central to the organisations mobile advertising operations and will working closely with the technical, financial, commercial and product management teams to ensure the company's ad operations and advertising product strategy is optimised to deliver strong and growing revenues while cost effectively managing the available resources.
Responsibilities:
This role includes the following key responsibilities.
In-Direct Ad Sales Support Services:
- Management of 3rd party ad sales partners to ensure all global ad sales partners are delivering against performance plans.
- Co-ordination of 3rd party ad sales partners to ensure any technical, operational and product dependencies on them are understood, prioritised and planned into their delivery plan.
- Support for 3rd Party ad sales teams where required, in particular the development and updating of media packs and provisioning of key stats and customer insight to assist in the sales process.
Direct Ad Sales Support Services
- Act as the single point of contact in the company's liaising between their direct ad sales teams and all internal and 3rd party partners involved in providing operations and services to support the direct sales teams advertisers requirements.
- Ensure that at all times the direct ad sales teams have the supporting services in place to deliver against their performance target.
- Manage their 3rd party ad operations partner who provides planning, trafficking, reporting and billing support to their direct sales team, ensuring at all time that they provide the appropriate support to the organisations direct ad sales team.
- Manage that SLA's with 3rd party ad operations partners are managed effectively and any problems and issues are resolved efficiently.
Ad Format and Product Development:
- Work with ad sales and product teams to develop ideas for new ad formats.
- Screen and prioritise new ideas and requirements for new ad formats with the ad sales team and product management team.
- Fully develop all agreed new concepts with clear business requirements.
- Act as business lead during the technical development and delivery of new ad formats and work with ad sales teams to forecast uptake.
- Act as business lead during the commercial deployment of new formats and coordinate cross functional support.
Global Planning and Operation
- Liaise with product and marketing teams to forecast inventory across products platforms and territories.
- Review sales forecast with direct and indirect sales teams to ensure performance targets are clearly communicated and being met.
- Where necessary prioritise available inventory in collaboration with the direct and in-direct sales teams.
- Liaise with internal and external platform providers on capacity planning to ensure the robustness of the supporting technology and processes.
- Monitor internal and external platform performance and SLA's acting on quality issues in a timely fashion.
Reporting and Billing:
- Managing the production and distribution of management team reports
- Providing commentary on performance against the plan
- Providing insight and analyse of performance to enhance future plans
- Provide insight and analysis to inform and improve the premium ad sales partners performance
- Manage partner revenue reporting and reconciliations (in partnership with their finance team)
Management of in-house campaigns:
- Coordination of in-house campaign requirements.
- Planning on inventory to support in-house campaign objectives.
- Configuration of platforms or management of 3rd parties to deliver in-house campaigns.
- Reporting on in house campaigns.
Deliverables
The following are the key deliverables expected of the successful candidate. These will require strong co-ordination and interpersonal skills to synthesise the experience of the various functions (Sales Management, Development, Operations, Product, Marketing, Finance), the majority of which are in UK HQ:
- Monetisation plan: a quarterly plan, updated monthly, defining the key objectives, milestones and tactical objectives to deliver the revenue targets for monetisation.
- Weekly monetisation report: a weekly report on the achievements against targets for monetisation, including assessment of partner effectiveness and recommendations for optimisation of the existing partners and selection of new ones.
- Partner inventory allocation: Allocation of inventory to partners and appropriate configuration of the company's and third party systems to realise this allocation.
- Monthly ops report: a report on the effectiveness of the ad operations and the performance of internal and external teams against SLA's.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have a strong technical and operations background with experience in mobile advertising and monetisation, and bring a blend of partner management, numerical, analytical and technical abilities, underpinned with outstanding relationship skills:
- Advertising and Monetisation: Demonstrable success in building a business operation to support a significant mobile advertising revenue stream, including management of an ad networks and coordination of cross functional teas.
- Commercial and negotiation expertise: experience in commercial negotiation and management of partners, and in particular working with advertising networks
- Numerical analysis and agility: Strength and practical experience in analysis of numerical data, extracting information and testing hypotheses. Comfortable building spreadsheets, carrying out sensitivity and what-if analysis, including pivot tables and graphical representation to identify trends.
- Excellent communicator and team player: Able to assimilate unstructured information and produce clear, well-structured, concise written summaries and reports. Able to communicate clearly via phone and in person. Able to rapidly build and sustain long-term relationships, both internally and with partners, based on clear expectation management and consistent delivery to expectations.

- MS Windows and Outlook: Expert - daily use.
- MS Word and Powerpoint: Expert - able to construct, edit, format documents & presentations, including using styles, graphics, charts etc
- MS Excel: Expert - able to create complex spreadsheets from scratch including data analysis, pivot tables, charts, sensitivity analysis
- MS Project: Intermediate - able to construct a simple project plan, allocate resources, set inter-task dependencies, structure tasks and milestones, include gantt chart in reports.
