About the company:

My client is a well established US organisation who has experience of a specific market niche and is the largest player in their field in the US.  They are involved in a part of the market that is widely expected to significantly grow during the next 12 months right across Europe (and beyond).  A team is being established for the EMEA region and will be based in the UK. 

Description:

One of the key initial hires is for a Strategic Sales Director who will be expected to initiate and progress the discussions with the appropriate mobile operators in the region.  The proposition here is a win win for the mobile operators and this role holder will help further develop the ecosystem and complete the market value chain so that all parties can take full advantage of the commercial opportunity. 

Duties and responsibilities:

Establish the market plan and necessary approach to the targeted mobile operators.  Articulate the value proposition and appropriate pitch into the operator marketplace.  Establish contact with all key touch points at a group and country level and progress the discussions relating to the market and the relevant commercial frameworks.

Candidate Requirements:

The specific technology here is less relevant, what we are looking for is for someone with a clear track record of being able to establish and develop strategic relationships with mobile operators who have a global presence.  You will need to have sold technology solutions into the mobile operators and have an appreciation of mobile network technology.  An intimate knowledge of the key mobile operator's structure and chain of command is key and you need to have been used to working on significant deals (>£10m).
