Description:
Due to ongoing development and growth we are now looking for talented Software Engineers with exceptional Java skills alongside experience in the development of Search / Information Retrieval products to join a dynamic team solving unique, large scale and highly complex technical problems. You will be part of a team designing, building and optimising backend services that power a variety of services including search and discovery, recommender systems and personalisation. You genuinely love this area of technology and have exceptional coding skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- Contribute production level Java code
- Work closely with machine-learning researchers to design and implement new algorithms
- Create tools for analysing massive data sets
- Work closely with product and design teams onsite and remotely
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters level degree in Computer Science/ Statistics/ Physics/ Maths or equivalent
- Very strong java programming skills and a track record of making reliable software
- Strong scripting skills (e.g. Python)
- Experience with SOLR / Lucene, Hadoop, JS/ HTML5
Special Conditions:
This role is offered on a permanent basis and will be located in Germany. We are able to consider applicants based outside of Germany however you must be willing and able to relocate in order to take up the role (our client is able to provide a comprehensive relocation package and a relocation assistance service should this be required)
